Nietzsche and Philosophy (French: Nietzsche et la philosophie) is a 1962 book by philosopher Gilles Deleuze. Its publication marked a significant turn in 20th-century French philosophy, which had to that point not considered Friedrich Nietzsche a serious philosopher.[1] Nietzsche and Philosophy was the first French work to treat Nietzsche's philosophy as systematic and coherent, raising questions that would become central in Nietzsche studies and French post-structuralism generally.[1] Within Nietzsche scholarship, the book was notable for giving serious consideration to the concepts of the will to power and the eternal return.[1]
